The Ms. Senior Allen Pageant was held September 7, 2008 at the Allen Senior Recreation Center. Lu Tai Chi Player member Greta Allen took part along with three other brave ladies.

Once committed, Greta had to choose a talent to perform. The Lu Tai Chi Players had recently learned the Plum Blossom Fan Form, a tai chi weapons form using fans. Greta decided to perform the fan form as her talent. The fan form has difficult moves that are extremely challenging but the goal in the Plum Blossom Fan Form is to make the moves look effortless and graceful.

Greta wanted to present this beautiful martial art to the audience so that they could admire the grace inherent in the form. Many people came up later and said how captivated they were with the fan performance. Greta had accomplished what she had wanted: to introduce people to a tai chi form infrequently seen in this country.
